Our Background

Superior Energy Solutions was founded in 2009 by Daniel Klear, a solar pioneer who installed panels on his own home in 1982—long before solar became mainstream.

After more than 30 years as an industrial engineer, Dan launched SES to bring sustainable, cost-saving energy solutions to his friends and neighbors in Northwest Ohio.

In 2023, ownership of the company transitioned to Neil Recker, Drew Stechschulte, and Eric Kahle, three Kalida locals who share a strong commitment to their community and its values.

Together, they’ve expanded Dan’s vision with a renewed focus on education, innovation, and trust-based service.

Dan remains an active part of the team, continuing to serve in sales and project support, ensuring that the company’s foundation of integrity and experience continues to guide everything we do.
